Thank you for coming in here to see what I have been up to!   I do appreciate your comments on what I do.  The Hamper met with approval.  Thank goodness I dread the day when someone wants these things changed, as unwrapping would be a pain.
Yesterday I sat and filled 80 after eight chocolate holders,I have to admit I felt slightly sick as I had eaten a couple while doing them - no ones fault but my own.  I then tied them up in 4 with some bakers twine.  I have a few more to do today for the fair tomorrow night.  If they don't sell it will mean a few less to make for going to the chemo unit.

Now I mentioned that I had made covers for the £1 size box of Maltessers?  Now bear in mind I didn't think this up. I had seen it on You Tube!   If you go on and put Maltesser box cover using your punch board it will come up with a few.  I used the one by Pootles, she has some brilliant makes using her envelope board.,,   Here is my ones.

Some of mine wrapped up

They fit in nearly

Fold in and stick down with a bit of  Sellotape or even better one of the dots
I ran out of.

A length of ribbon and a little sentiment that's it, a nice gift to hand over.

Now this the sentiment on this one isn't stuck down I will do one in the  Burgundy ink, this is just to show.

That's it for today. Go look on site or you tube the maltesser box.
Lots of great makes have fun, remember it's just a sheet of card or paper!

Good evening, sorry it's been a few days since I last posted.  I have been busy getting the things ready for the school Christmas fair.   I am getting there slowly.  Hopefully I will have it all done come Friday.    The thing is I am getting asked to do other things!  Like making up hampers and gift baskets.

The hamper above is one I was asked to make up. I was told what sort of things that was to be put in, thankfully they were OK.  I did add 2 of my 4 wrapoed up after eight holders just a little added extra.  It's not a very good photo of it wrapped the lighting is so poor at the moment.  That's it ready to be picked up.

I know what I as going to let you know!   The basket I used for this hamper came from B&M store you got the wicker basket ( it's light weight) the straw like stuff, cellophane a bow and a tag.  Really everything that you need.  I packed mine up underneath with tissue and of course put my own ribbon on it.   You got all that for £4.99 now I think that's a good price as I have paid  £15 for a basket before now, and at £4.99 it makes the gift hamper that bit cheaper, or you can put the £10 in to other goodies.

The other thing I have been up to is a paper wrapping for a £1 box of maltessers which I found on you tube. I will try and photograph them and put them up, it just transforms that little box of chocolates into a gift.

Thank you for all you kind comments on my little makes.  I just hope they sell.
Stay safe and warm.

Just a fun make.  After eight mint holder.  Very simple you need an A4 sheet of card, using your score board on its inches side.  It's now a bit photo heavy and and great light all wrong.

Place your card so

Score at 1/2ins, 3ins and 31/2 ins

Turn your card and score at 21/2 ins,5 ins, and 71/4 ins

Cut away the extra leavening you this shape

Fold these bits and crease with bone folder

Bottom flap crease and fold glue the side flaps to the bottom fold. (A little pocket. )
Crease and fold top flap add to small foam pads so once you have put your after eight mint in use them to keep flap closed.

Not the best instruction sorry but will give you the general idea.

I have decided to make loads of these and take them with the Christmas goodies up to the chemo unit so they can give everyone one on the week running up to Christmas, I know not everyone likes or can eat the chocolate, but it's the thought that counts.
So I will be busy.

Good afternoon.  Thank you for calling in to see what I have been up too?

I have taken a table at Beths school Christmas fair as you know.  I have been making these little boxe, which will in my eyes make great table gift boxes or even just to put a little gift in?  I have had fun making these.  The bottom ones are made using big bits out of my bit box and odd sheets of card. The flowers and die cuts are again from my bit box. I love using up these bits and more so doing these.

I have already got an order for 15.   These are for table gifts.  I am hoping they sell at the school.
Off to make some more gift bags

These are made from using the XCut pillow box die, very easy to use and you get 2 out of an A4 sheet of card 250 gms is good.

Hope you are all well and thank you once again for all your lovely comments.

Good morning.   Firstly Thank You for all your kind words about how Calum  dealt and coped with his friends loss, he can be a pain at times but deep down he is very thoughtful and kind, and seeing how he is just 11 he's doing ok.  Andrew has dealt with what he saw, by saying he will look for Millie's star in the sky.   He is 7 and he finds his own way.
Samuels, dad, mum and his twin brother were very taken aback by the support Tammy, Derek and the boys have shown.

Today I am showing 3 of my little cut down bags, I have taken a table at Beths school Christmas fair so I have to get things done, plus I thought I wouldn't get asked to do many gifts this year, I think I will take that back.  These I will sell with and without goodies.  I have orders for a good few already from out with the school, so if they don't sell they will be used.

The tutorial for these little bags are on my blog on the 1st May this year. Very simple and not hard to make as long as you own the X Cut die.

Off to get some more put together.

Oh I want to show you these

Now these I found in Home Bargains they are described as " Nail Art Dotting Tools"

As you can see they are like the craft ones? Difference you get the set of 4 for 99p big difference in cost from the craft ones, so if you need more look for these, even if it's just from the grand children to use!

Hope it's not to cold and wet where you are, here the sun is out but it rather chilly.

Thank you again.

Tammy asked me to make this card for Calum our grandsons friend and his family.  They lost their little 7 month old cocker spaniel pup on Monday in a road accident outside the school.
Calum and Andrew did witness it so you can imagine a lot of sadness. Calum was very brave and went and got Samuel his friend and told him what had happened, it did play on his mind as a couple of stupid children in his class told him he shouldn't have said anything. I do wonder what we are breeding in some families???

What made matters worse for Calum was the fact they were picking up their new family member, Calum was worried what he was going to say to Samuel, but they X Box each other and Calum suggested to Samuel they built a mine craft  statue of Millie, it did help.
This is a half an hour of this little black one being in our house, him and Harris were like old friends. No problems what so ever, Tammy left Jak for 25 mins tonight while she went and picked up Derek from the station and came back to everything being fine.
So we will hope he will be ok left out of the cage.

Thank you for all you lovely comments on my " Positive Thoughts" card.
I am a great believer in positive thoughts, I know sometimes they dont work, I only which they worked all the time.

Wednesday, 18 November 2015

Good afternoon.  Well the sun is out but for how long you guess is as good as mine?
Thank you for calling in and also, thank you for all your lovely comments on my card. They are all appreciated.
Today's card is made for a friend how has just started her chemo. I just wanted to send her positive thoughts.

Heartfelt aster die cut into layers of tissue paper, leaves are from my box.   Sue Wilsons   Diagonal Heart die and a Sue Wilson bow.  Very simple card.

That's all for today, I am over in Perth puppy sitting, well he not so much a puppy, puppy but 17 months old, daughter and husband have rescued him only last week, but he stayed at the kennels while they were away, now he is very anxious as in two weeks he has lost his owner and his brother. He and his brother had to be rehomed due to illness of the owner,  so a lot of upset.  He was in a cage yesterday but oh boy the cage hasn't come off to good. Plus puppy in a complete state.  So granny came and sat with him while Tammy did what she needed to do.

Hope you are all safe and not been flooded?

Good evening.  Just taking 5 mins off to put my feet up and write this post.  I am looking after grandsons, have been since Thursday. Mum and dad will be back tomorrow.

The worrying thing is they are at a rock festival and after the terrible  atrocities of Paris you start to think that could have so easily at their one seeing how over 2,000 were there last night.   Tammy phoned so it helped, I knew they were ok but I just needed to hear her voice

To night I have a card I made for a friends birthday, very simple using Sue Wilson's  butterfly die, heart felt aster die and a border embossing folder.  The pink pearlised card is from Anna Marie card.

Thank you for all your lovely words about Patricia and I helping to raise the money to keep the tea trolley stocked at the chemo unit.  Just a small way of saying thank you.

Better get back to doing things, like ironing.  Tammy is coming home to hopefully an empty basket. Mine is going to be full when I get home.

Goodies for the chemo unit.  As you who know me I have supported the chemo unit Ninewells since I had my treatment there some three and half years ago, with taking goodies up for the tea trolley through the sale of Patricia and I making pendants.

These are goodies that I will be delivering up to the chemo unit at Ninewells tomorrow. These have been bought out of the money from a great bunch of wonderful friends who on a crafty weekend bought pendants from us, they asked Patricia and I to bring pendants with us and we did.

These are us at the retreat which came about from just Sandra ( cotswold crafter ) saying back in March that it would be great to meet up for a weekend.  Well we did it, and had a great time meeting blog friends, some we had meet on other local meet ups, but this was on a much bigger scale. With us coming from all over Britain and Germany.

With other friends who couldn't come to the retreat buying pendants too, we will be able to take goodies for the tea trolley for a very long time.

Hazel & Patricia

Good morning from a very wet and windy Fife.
Firstly thank you for all your lovely comments on my little baskets and gift bags. They are much  appreciated .    It's good to be back in a crafting mood.
Today I have a wedding card to show.

7x7 prefolded card as the base, Anna Marie pearl card was used for every thing.
Sue Wilson striplet die.
Heart felt creation Aster Die for the flower and leaves.
The boarder embossing folders are ones I bought but can't remember the names.
Pearls from stash.

A very simple card..

I was asked to wrapped two bottles of wine too.

A second marriage and no gifts wanted, but they enjoy their wine so I am sure they will enjoy drinking it.

Wrapped up in tartan tissue as the bride is from up here, but now lives in London.
They are meeting up this weekend with the group of music fans at the big
" Hard Rock Hell " concert. I expect the wine will be all gone ny the time they head home.

That's it for today. Thank you for calling in.

Good afternoon, again I have to say sorry for being absent.    I was away last weekend at a craft retreat which was more chatting, laughing and just catching up with friends,  while away I picked up,a real nasty cold/flu like bug. I think it was from being on trains for  over 9 hours each way. which along with sore legs and back ( just normal for me these days) I ended up in bed till Wednesday when I turned the corner as they say.

I have been taking it easy and have put together a lot of my Christmas cards.  Today I have been playing making my cut down XCut gift bags and doing up baskets for Patricia to sell at her grandsons  Christmas fair next weekend.

These little gift bags hold mini products, you can't fit three in, I just am showing two little hand products that I had. My stock is out side in my new store room, it's pouting with rain so I am not going out to get any in, that can wait.

Two little baskets with goodies.
They don't photograph well in the cellophane but do look lovely I have used rich red ribbon to tie them up.

If you want to know how to cut the bags down, I did a tutorial back on May the 1st on the blog.

Thank you for all your comments on my gift baskets, they were well received, I have to say I still do love making my baskets up over doing other craft things.

Good afternoon.   Thank you for calling in to see if I have posted.                                                            I am sorry I haven't been around for a while again.  I haven't been  in the mood to do any thing.   I am hoping that making these 2 baskets will get me back on track to doing things.  These baskets are for the mum and her daughter that home board our dog Harris when ever we go away.  Due to the daughter expecting her first baby and her and her husband are having to live with her mum and dad while the planners do there normal thing of not passing the plans for their new home, which will be attached to mum and dad home , and their boarding licence doesn't allow them to home board with a baby in the house!   This baby will grow up with 5 dogs so how the odd ones staying over will make a difference goodness knows.  They can still groom and dog walk but not home board.  So these are a thank you for all the home boarding they have done over the 8 years that Harris has been  going.

I asked Ellie the daughter, if she was  starting buying things for baby, don't usualky like giving before baby is here, but she has been "gathering"  as she called it. Doesn't want to know what she is having, but happy to buy things. So I decided to make her a baby basket of goodies.

Mum I have given her pampering bits, she does so much and I think she doesn't think of hersef much.

Nothing much, but enough just to say " Thank You"

As I have said I am hoping that I might get back into doing things .  I need to get Christmas cards started.

Thank you again for calling in.

Good morning, and thank you for all your lovely comments on my "Beer Cake"
Which was loved, Kev as I said is a big child at heart.  So he loved it.

Yesterday I had to make up a Raffle prize.  It's for a fund raiser for " Motovate" which does great work with children who have different level of  motor skills.  Like everything there isn't the funding available, Tammy younger daughter has given a voucher entitling the winner to getting 40 items of ironing done, with a pick up and drop off service included.  So of course mum had to make the voucher holder.

My basket shows that you can make three nice products a bit more special a gift.  My basket is from Home Bargains and are a good buy at now only £1.99, a hand towel, flannel, cellophane wrap and ribbon.

I have been playing with some new very narrow border embossing folders that I bought, from running them through the GC  I decided to see what they would look like just to make very simple cards.

Ok I will need to add little sentiments, but for flat posting I think they don't look to bad.
They are small 4x6 ins cards, the folders are by " Darice"

That's all for today, thank you for looking in and seeing what I have been doing, at the moment not a lot, I am still adjusting to not looking after Beth and Anna.   I must admit I am enjoying not clock watching, and dropping them and picking from school.

Take care what ever you are doing.

One finished "Beer Cake"   It's finally  done and dusted, there was a change in when it was required so I left finishing it until I got back off holiday.   I ended up using Playmobil and Lego toys, Kevin is a big kid at heart and these things will appeal to him.   Now I just hope it meets the criteria of the order.

16ins square cake board,  road is black sand paper, gravel and brick papers  are from a model shop, box holds six small beers,  and as I said motor bikes are from " playmobil" bricks  tyres and fence.  " "lego " ribbon round the edge is from stash and it came from " IKEA"

Well holiday over for another year, and after 8 days of lovely sun shine it's back to British weather and warm clothes.   I don't sun worship and sit in the shade and have factor 50 on all the time, yet I have a bit of colour , not tanned just a slight colouring.   We were lucky as the owner has his villa in the grounds near the quiet pool so we were able to lie all the time in the shade of  the villa.   Oh these silly people who bake themselves.   I was so glad just to have some heat to my bones.

Went and picked Beth up from school tonight as requested by her before I went away on holiday, big smiles and a lovely load of hugs.   Been requested to pick her up next week, mum is away next week and Beth asked if I could pick her up as its bad enough me not being there but worse as mum will be away too, so of course I said yes.  Anna was being reserved with her hugs tonight as she has a friend staying, so that was understandable.

That's it for just now, I have a few things to do so hopefully I will be able to do a few posts.
Thank you for calling in.

Yes! Big sister Patricia and I are out in Turkey at our favour place ( Dalyan)

It's very hot! not September temps at all!!!  Up in the mid 30c
So we are glad of this lovely shaded area.

As usual the cleaning ladies do their amazing art with the towels.

So sorry if I haven't been visiting your blogs to leave a comment.   The wifi isnt That  good here this year, I think so many are using it.
Anyway I just wanted you to know why I haven't been around, I should be back to commenting normally next week.
Oh I have just noticed I have a new follower but, due to the weak signal I can see whom. Welcome anyway it's lovely of you to join my little blog.

Thank you to everyone who left comments on my "oldies Friday " that gift bag die is by X Cut its brilliant, I was lucky and was given it as a gift, I have used it so many times.

Good morning, thank you for popping in to see what I have posted today.   It's "Oldie Friday" once again.  Where has the week gone to?

Today I am showing some gift bags I made last June, I think these were for teachers gifts.

I just love using my XCut die, it quick and easy to put together, and you can decorate them or just leave them plain.   If i mind right these contained mini products.  They hold a few.

Thank you for all the lovely comments that were left on my engagement card, I was going to show the second one I made, but remembered it was Friday, so I will keep that card for another post.

Good evening..  I found who my 60th followers is its Hazel C UK.  She doesn't have a blog, but that doesn't matter as everyone is welcome on here.  Thank you Hazel for clearing that up.

Beth again says " Thank You " for all the comments on her card she made for her cousin.  They left tonight to stay in the hotel for the night as they have a very early flight to France,  in the morning. It will be a long day for them as their flight gets in 4 hours before their train leaves, then they have a bit of a drive.

I had an order for some engagement cards today, so I thought I would show the first one.  I was asked to make them simple, so this is what I did for this one.

5x7 card made with Pearlised card and Navy PMD card.
Marianne  foliage die.

Insert verse is off a small plaque I found in Homebase.

Hopefully I have made it simple enough.

I have to get the others made before the weekend, I am trying to get housework,up to date along with the ironing so that by Monday I can go away with Patricia knowing everything is done.

Good evening,  I have just noticed I am up to 60 followers, can't work out whom the  latest one is, but who ever you are, you are very welcome.  Beth said to thank everyone of you for your kind comments.   She was so made up this afternoon when reading them.  We managed to unwrap the cousin card so here it is.

Sorry not the best of photos as I had to use my phone and the card was still in the box, I should have taken it out.

It all wrapped up in tulle and tied with organza ribbon.
The photo of the box all tied up didn't photo well at all so we will just miss that out.

Now we just have to hope and pray that they remember to take it with them.
Girls still not happy about there dresses, and to be honest I can see why!!!

Well over at Perth looking after grand sons why mum and dad are away at a concert. So it's home work now and then showers and bed.

That's all for now.  Didn't have a good day as our Toyota is back in the garage, we are having so much problems with the filters that are now in Diesel cars.  Today all the lights to do with the 4 wheel drive and anti-skid lights came on along with the engine block one.
It's all to do with them taking things out to sort the filter problem.  Goodness knows what will go wrong next.   The funny thing is that the mechanic (who looked like he was just out of school )asked me if I did much driving in it, well you can imagine what I told him. Seeing how some weeks I did over 250miles.  Do we have to travel hundreds of miles every day now???  Why sell cars that have to do that.  Our Toyota is an urban cruiser, which I pointed out to him means it's designed for town driving too.

Firstly thank you for all your comment on Beths card, she will be so made up with them when I show her tomorrow.
Tonight I am just going to show you photographs of Patricia and I meeting with Jess Watson and Norah McPhee, they don't have blogs but both comment on Sue Wilsons and I think a few others including Patricia and mine.  We have met once before which was as long as today's - over 4 hours, again we all said we should have brought cushions with us. We met at Stirling Mills store resturant.  Oh the staff and customers must have wondered what was going on with all the laughing and chattering that's was going on.

Jess, Patricia, Norah and myself

Patricia with Norah, in the foreground next to the cup is the box Patricia had made and filled with goodies

Now this is the stunning card made by Norah, whom we had to tell off as she kept saying she wasn't as good as the rest of us.  Believe you me its is far better than I can make. It was so beautifully made.
She has written a beautiful message inside, but Norah's writing is so small that it wouldn't show up if I photographed it.

I was going to wait to show these photographs but I just wanted to let it be seen that, if you get asked to meet up with another crafter that you chat to on there or yours blogs, go for it as I have to say Patricia and I have met up and made so many lovely friends by just saying " yes let's do it"

Well that's it for just now, I have made a few cards over the last few days but until they are sent and received I can't show them.

Good morning.   It's a lovely one at the moment. So here's hoping it lasts.
I would like to welcome Barb, to my blog.  Also thank you to everyone for your lovely comments on my Wedding Card.  I do like white on white, hopefully the happy couple liked it too.
Today I am showing you the card Beth made all by herself from the bits of card and things that  I have given to her.  Some things have come from my sister Patricia also.  I didn't know that Beth was going to make this card until I got a little call for help from her, she was in a panic incase she hadn't put it together well enough to give to Gillian and Andrew.

Here is what she made:-

Card made from pieces of card, a topper and sentiment all for things that weren't wanted by Patricia and I.    That Beth has in her box.

Only mistake was she didn't put in an insert, the one thing I have always told her to do, but apart from that I think she did very well.    She made another beautiful wedding card on Friday when her and I had some one to one time together.   Mum had asked if I could pick Beth up and spend some time with her, as she is missing me.  They have had a bit of a hard time with Beth - tears and paddy throwing.  BETHS way of dealing with hurt and upset.  I didn't mind one bit going and getting her, I had said to mum that I would do that for a few weeks, but oh no she just said Beth would be fine.  I am picking her up from school on Tuesday, they are away to a wedding in France and I am off on my weeks holiday with Patricia. So it will be about three weeks before we see one another.  Anna was happy to see me too.  I also think mum as realised that she should have listened and let me do the once a week pick up.   We forgot to photograph the one we made on Friday,  but she has text me saying can we undo the ribbon on the box and take photos on Tuesday when I am there, I have let her know we will do that,  two new length of ribbon is no problem, we wrapped the card in tulle and tied it with ribbon
so we will just replace it also.

That's all for today, I hope you all have a good day what ever you are doing.  Me I have to complete my beer cake ready to hand over before I go away.

Good morning, sorry I haven't posted again for days, but I just don't know where the days are going. I thought being retired ( yes I have finally done it ). I would have more time, NO!!!  The days are rushing by.

I was asked yesterday  to make a Wedding Card for Friday.   No hurry!!!   Any way i was asked to make it plain, not fussy so this is what I made.

kept it simple.  A 7x7 prefold card, the poppy embossing folder was one that my daughter Gillian bought for me and it didn't have a name on it, the congratulations stamp is from a " forever friends" set of wedding stamps.   Ribbon from my stash.  I did stamp " On Your Wedding Day" on the inside, forgot to photograph it. I have got out of the habit of photographing every stage.

Thank you for all your kind comments on my gift of Thank You cards, Tammys godparents loved them and we're grateful for them as they had rather a lot of folk to thank.
