A BIRTHDAY CARD

Good afternoon.  Firstly I want to say sorry that I haven't been commenting on your blogs for a few days.   Life has been busy, firstly husband took ill with a very nasty chest infection, which saw him in A&E at the beginning of last week.  Have to say it was a bit worrying seeing him unable to get breath, after a large dose of antibiotics he is now ok.  Always say to him what does he does he do with  his self while I am at work- well I now know that he does do quite a bit as I have found out as I have had to do those things that he does.  Plus I have had to see to cooking my own tea too. So I will take it all back.  Then Patricia, Elaine, Jenny and I were at Glasgow on Saturday. Great day out just disappointed with what was on offer at the show, never mind more pennies to spend another time. The thing I came home with that wasn't planed was picking up a really awful cold.  I don't get colds that often but oh boy I have got a right one this time.  So commenting just hasn't been top of the list.
Made this very simple birthday card last weekend, was just again playing with bits.

A 5x7 card, papers from my stash and memory box Happy Birthday.

These girly kind of birthday cards are always needed.

That's all for today.  Thank you for all your lovely comments once again. Yes I never thought this blogging would be so addictive but I love commenting and reading what's going on with every one.

  4. Hi Hazel,

A beautiful, very pretty card, love the die used.

Sorry to hear about your hubby, I know how horrible it can be but your hubby's must have been bad to go to A&E, hope he is now on the mend and that your cold does not turn into the same.

Shame about the craft show but like you say more monies to spend next time.

    Love & Hugs

  11. Hi Hazel, so sorry your husband has been poorly, but glad he's ok now...gorgeous card, you really are into the card making now! I have a theory about the shows and not so many companies being there...there are so many of them now, I think it's just that they can't get to all of them! Hugs Carole Z x

  13. Hi Hazel,
so sorry to hear your hubby has been poorly, and you now have a nasty cold.
I do hope you are both feeling better soon.
I am one of the lucky ones and very rarely get colds, I usually suffer with maybe 1 a year, and very, very, rarely get flue, the last flue episode I got was 7 years ago, just when we were going to Disney Land Paris, and before that it was 10 years ago. My hubby had a dreadful cold after Christmas, but I never caught it.
Love your beautiful pastel colour card. Great design too. Someone is going to have a wonderful Birthday card.
You take care and keep nice and warm with that cold. At least the weather is warmer at the mo, well at least it is in Kent.
Love and get well hugs to you both. Jenny L.

  15. Lovely card, with the way you've turned that elegant oval to its side on this pretty dp. Just read over at Patricia's that you had a bad cold. Gosh, card making would be at the bottom of my list in that case, commenting too! I sympathesize with the not catching the breath & struggling. I get like that with allergies that leap into respiratory problems. It's so debilitating & takes a while to bounce back. I surely hope that both of you will get over it quickly, and back to your usual energy. In the meantime, do the necessities. Blogging & cards will wait until you are all well again. Hugs to you both!

  16. Hi Hazel I hope you and hubby are now on the mend. How disappointing for you that you didn't spend all your dosh at the show. I tend to find that when I go, our local shops are so good at keeping up with trends it is usually only good bargains that attract.
Great girlie card, love the Happy birthday die (I'm assuming it's a die). You can't go wrong in my books with either spotty or plaid papers.
Take care of yourself, hugs and happy crafting, Erika. x
